Global Transfer within HSBC accounts

If you are our HSBC Global Private Banking, HSBC Premier Elite, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customer, you can enjoy fee-free and instant transfer1 to any self name or thirty party global HSBC account in the world.

You can debit your account in currencies of AUD, CAD, CHF, CNY2, EUR, GBP, HKD, JPY, NZD, SGD, THB and USD, and transfers to your self-named / third-party global HSBC accounts in supported currencies below. Our digital journey will guide you through.

- To third-party global HSBC accounts: Australia, Bahrain, Bermuda4, Egypt4, Guernsey, HSBC Expat, India, Indonesia, Isle of Man, Jersey, Mainland China, Malaysia4, Malta, New Zealand5, Philippines4, Qatar, Singapore, Sri Lanka4, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Vietnam4.


Notes:

  1. Same Date / Forward Date Transfer from currencies which does not involve foreign exchange will be processed on the date specified. For currencies which require quoting an exchange rate will be depends on the normal trading hours of the receiving entity, currencies include: Bermudian Dollars, Egyptian Pound, Indonesian Rupiah, Sri Lankan Rupee, Malaysian Ringette, Vietnamese Dong, Philippines PESO. If your request falls on a non-working day in the sending or receiving country or region, it will be processed the next working day.
  2. Transfer of Renminbi from Hong Kong can be made to the above destination countries, except Mainland China
  3. You will no longer be able to transfer funds to your self-name global HSBC accounts in the following countries/regions:
    - to Greece (effect from 26 July 2023)
    - to Oman (effect from 15 August 2023)
    And to your third-party global HSBC accounts in the following countries/regions:
    - To Canada (effect from 16 July 2023)
    - To Greece (effect from 16 July 2023)
    - To Oman (effect from 16 July 2023)
    Your relevant registered payees will also be removed after the effective date stated above. You will have to re-add them as new payee for other global payments in HSBC HK app or HSBC Online Banking. You can still transfer to the impacted countries / regions via other global payments journey which charges might be imposed by correspondent and / or payee banks.
  4. Effect from 16 July 2023, you will no longer be able to transfer funds to the following countries/regions in the currencies listed below via Global Transfers to third-party HSBC accounts
    - To Bermuda in Bermudian Dollar (BMD)
    - To Egypt in Egyptian Pound (EGP)
    - To Malaysia in Malaysian Ringgit (MYR)
    - To Philippines in Philippine Peso (PHP)
    - To Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka Rupee (LKR) or Hong Kong Dollar (HKD)
    - To Vietnam in Vietnamese Dong (VND)
    Your relevant registered payees will also be removed on the above-mentioned effective date. You will have to re-add them as new payee for other global payments in HSBC HK app or HSBC Online Banking. After the above-mentioned effective date, you can still:
    a) Send Global Transfers to third-party HSBC accounts in other supported currencies; OR
    b) Make a Global Transfers to your self-named HSBC account in the respective country / region, then transfer funds to third-party HSBC account via local transfer; OR
    c) Transfer to the impacted countries / regions via other global payments journey which charges might be imposed by correspondent and / or payee banks
  5. With effect from 30 Nov 2023, we will no longer support transferring funds via Global Transfers to your self-named or third-party HSBC account in New Zealand. Your relevant registered payee(s) will also be removed on the above-mentioned date. You will have to re-add them as new payee for other global payments in HSBC HK app or HSBC Online Banking. After the above-mentioned date, you can still transfer to New Zealand via other global payment journeys which charges might be imposed by correspondent and / or payee banks.
  6. With effect from 21 Dec 2023, we will no longer support transferring funds via Global Transfers to your self-named HSBC account in France. After the above-mentioned date, you can still transfer to France via other global payment journeys which charges might be imposed by correspondent and / or payee banks.
  7. With effect from 17 Mar 2024, we will no longer support transferring funds via Global Transfers to your self-named HSBC account in Canada. After this date, you can still make transfers to Canada via other global payment services where charges might apply.
    Due to this change, from 17 March 2024 to 16 April 2024 (both dates inclusive), the HKD50 local charge for self-named telegraphic transfer from HSBC HK personal banking account to account in HSBC Bank Canada via HSBC HK App or Online Banking will be waived. The charge waiver is only applicable to HSBC personal banking account holders with HSBC Global Private Banking status, HSBC Premier Elite, HSBC Premier and HSBC One customers. Please note other charges might be imposed by correspondent and / or payee banks.
